Winning a Trifecta

                 Winning a Trifecta

Americans have a propensity to see things in threes. Folklorists say the belief that good or bad things come in threes is an ancient superstition that remains a strong modern belief. According to anthropologist Alan Dundes the significance of the number three in American culture is readily apparent.

It's in our names. We have three names.  Then there are the three-oriented phrases like ``It's as easy as one, two, three''; ``the third time's a charm''; ``going down for the third time''; and ``Tic tac toe, three in a row.'' Plus, there are numerous three-worded phrases: "win, lose or draw,'' "we shall overcome", and "snap, crackle and pop.''

And most importantly for our family in terms of our faith- the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

In horse racing a trifecta (picking 1st, 2nd and 3rd place) is a hard wager to win. God has picked our trifecta for us and there is no way to lose by wagering on His plans for our life. Last week brought us the first part of our trifecta into our family.

Eleonora Virginia was born on 6/16/16, her actual targeted due date. And her birthdate will always be a Palindrome since the date can be read the same way backwards and forwards. Her birth at 7:23pm was followed closely by a huge thunderstorm that had 70mph winds resulting in widespread power outages for several days.

Am I superstitious?  No, I am just pointing out some unique characteristics that will be conversed many times in the years ahead. Everyone is happy to have little Nora at home, fitting her routine into the many we already have in place.

Now what about the remaining parts of the trifecta? Our Dossier for two littles ones in Bulgaria has been submitted. Hoping to have USCIS approval real soon, pending submission of a couple of additional documents, then on toward the first visit.

Then there is the continued saving and fund raising. We have an $800 matching grant that we are $161 shy of obtaining. Who out there can help us meet that goal? Please spread the word, share the Reece’s Rainbow link below. Every little bit helps.

We are in the planning stages of additional fundraising events in July, so stay tuned for that.

We appreciate your continued prayers throughout this journey.
