In Remembrance

As you may have heard, the Winslow's precious daughter, Zoey, whom they'd just visited in December, and had celebrated her 7th birthday, passed away yesterday.

I think my emotions ran the gamut of from shock to dismay, to quite honestly, anger.

Why?

Why, Lord, why? Her family was just there. They were trying, working as fast as possible to bring her home.  As though I have any right to question the sovereignty of the Lord of all creation.

But He is a God of mercy. God who heals (Jehovah-Rophe.) And He chose the bless this child, with the briefest, sweetest touch of love, the physical love of a mother and father, and then with eternal healing and the love of the Father for all eternity.

I think the lyrics of this song, by Matthew West, put this in prospective. He loves her more.

I love you more than the sun
And the stars that I taught how to shine
You are mine, and you shine for me too
I love you yesterday and today
And tomorrow, I'll say it again and again
I love you more

Glenn, Mary, and family, please know you are lifted in our prayers. I pray that you will feel God's healing on your hearts, and rest in knowing, He loves you, and Zoey, more that you can imagine.

It's gone live

Check it out, the Pleven Project is live. With a blog, store, Facebook, & Twitter accounts, no less! Susanna at the Blessing of Verity did a fantastic post. You are able to order a limited edition tee-shirt if you request it by 1/15.  Please support this cause, this really is bigger than just getting "our" kids out, we can not forget the ones left behind.
Thank you!

And it's official

Our adoption was granted. Decree should come out right after new years!

Please pray for one travel *potential* snag.  But mostly, just Praise Jesus with me, Who truly does abundantly more than you could think or ask!

In about 8 more hours....

Our file goes to the courts in the girls' home country! It is almost surreal, to finally have the end in sight.  Please be in prayer over these proceedings, for a receptive judge and that the remainder of the processing goes smoothly.

I'm trying to pull together the last of the prep work. And fundamentally assumed I'd have a bit more time (ha ha--and ALL that I wanted was for things to move faster!) The kids and I have been moving more furniture than Rent-A-Center, and we're now ready to get the bunks up in the girls' room. Then to tackle the spare room...with spare being another term for catch-all.

These tasks, and securing a passport for a certain big sis who'll be traveling with me, are the prelude to the real fun, of getting clothing, high chair (need a fancy reclining one, not the more efficiency style I typically use), stroller for many, and car seat which will accommodate Pen's very fragile body.

Oh yeah, and in between all that, I'm supposed to Christmas shop! Wish me luck!

A Verse and a Reminder....

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 15:13 (KJV)

I needed that reminder in this very, very stressful week.

And, a reminder from Amy Rainey:

Hello!

This is just a reminder that Tony's auction is live and it is fabulous!  This is the largest auction in Hidden Treasures history.  There are currently 152 items listed.    You guys are literally blessing my socks off...really...I can't keep my socks on no matter how hard I try!  If you checked in earlier in the week, please take another look.  I've added 12 brand new items this morning alone.

If you haven't stopped by yet , please do.  Let's help bring this sweet boy home where he belongs.  He matters!!

Can I also ask that you share the auction link on social media?  Facebook and Twitter are great means of advertising.  Thank you so much.

Blessings,
Amy Rainey

Please stop by and support this family & rescue one more precious child who has waited in that place for far, far too long. Thank you (and feel free to republish Amy's message via  your social media outlet o'choice--largest auction ever requires the largest audience ever, right?)

When you tell your kids that...

You aren't running a restaurant.....

You really aren't telling the truth ;-)
